Frick A. Smith

CEO/Inventor

"Rick" received his Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from the University of Texas at Austin.  He recently retired early after 26 years at Holt Cat.  Frick comes from a family of aircraft enthusiasts, and he is a private pilot, aircraft designer and inventor as well.

 

As a hobby, Rick has worked in his spare time on creating and patenting his aircraft designs since 2004. He now holds three aeronautical patents with patents pending and international patents filed under the Patent Cooperation Treaty. Since his retirement, Rick is working full time on building his aircraft designs and creating new ones. 

 

Douglas Wilson

Chief Engineer

Doug received his B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin in 2004, and later he received his M.S. in Astronautical Engineering from the University of Southern California. While Doug was a graduate student, he began consulting in his spare time for Frick for the purpose of securing patents related to Frick’s original designs. 

 

Doug has been involved with NASA since 2006.  While at NASA, he worked in the Guidance, Navigation, and Control group supporting 14 space shuttle missions.  Doug has also been involved with the development of the Constellation and Orion projects performing trade studies and creating system requirements for the next generation space vehicle.   Prior to these efforts, he served as a consultant to the University of Texas at Austin performing analysis of the Cessna Caravan during flight in icing conditions.  As Chief Engineer, he is responsible for overseeing the trade studies and overall conceptual design as well as other overall aspects of the aerial vehicle.
